Q: Are your nutritional services covered by insurance benefit programs?

 

It depends on which company you use!  If your plan includes "Nutritionist," my services are likely covered. If your plan only states "Dietitian" my Natural Nutrition services will not be covered, I am not a Dietitian. Please check with your insurance company prior to submitting receipts for Natural Nutritional services because some may not accept these claims. Insurance companies such as Manulife, iA Financial Group, Equitable Life, GreenShield Canada, ClaimSecure Inc, Blue Cross Alberta coverage, Desjardins, Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP), and Sunlife cover my services. Some insurance providers offer health spending accounts, which you could use towards my services. Please note that I do offer payment plans and do my best to keep my services accessible, I am always willing to discuss payment options.

Q: Are you a Registered Dietician?

No, I am a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN), Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and Certified Yoga Teacher. I have had my licensed nutrition practice since 2018. I have worked with 100's of clients you can read some reviews here! :)

Q: What services can an RHN provide me?

As a Nutritionist, I can assess and advise you on your nutritional well-being. I do this through one-on-one counselling, goal setting, nutritional recommendations, supplement recommendations (if required), lifestyle coaching, recipe and meal ideas, workshops, cooking demonstrations, and public speaking. When working with a client, health history, past experiences, stress, lifestyle, sleep and much more and taken into account. I work within a holistic nutrition framework.

 

All my recommendations are symptom-based. During an initial consultation, we discuss your main health goals/concerns and the symptoms that you are currently experiencing. Through food, supplement, and lifestyle recommendations I teach and guide you on how to address your goals, in a healthy and sustainable way. I strive to teach my clients long term skills that result in lasting health.  


Q: Do you work with people with eating disorders?

If you have been diagnosed with an eating disorder, I strongly advise you work with your healthcare team or reach out to an eating disorder specialist. Visit https://nedic.ca/ for resources. I do work with people experiencing disordered eating, however not active or newly overcome eating disorders. Feel free to connect, and we can figure out the best way to move forward.  

Q: Do you only work with plant-based eaters?

Great question! No, I work with all people who eat in many different ways. I do specialize in plant-based eating, however my way of eating and living would never affect anyone who seeks my services nor do I judge anyone for how they chose to eat. Although if you are looking for tips on the carnivore diet I may not be the best fit ;)

Q. Am I able to book one appointment if I am not looking for multiple coaching sessions?

Currently I offer these programs however, you can email me and depending on my schedule we might be able to work something out! :)

Q: What are your payment options?

Payments can be made via interact e-transfer, Visa or Mastercard. Please send all e-transfers to info@plantforwardnutrition.com. Online payments are made through Stripe, a secure online payment system that can be sent to you upon request. 

Q: Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, payment plans are available, I also offer a sliding scale for my services, please don't hesitate to reach out if payment is an issue.

Q: Do you have a return policy?

If within a 15-day period of purchasing a package you decided that you do not wish to go ahead with my consulting services, and have not yet had your initial consultation, you will be refunded in full. After 15 days of purchase, if you have not booked your initial consultation, you are not eligible for a refund. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with the information and program provided to you after meeting with me, refunds on the remaining visits will be offered on a case-by-case basis. 

Q: How long do I have before my consultations expire?

All appointments and packages are available for redemption up to 1 year after the date purchased. 

Q: Is there a fee for missing a scheduled appointment?

 

Yes. There is a 48-hour cancellation policy for appointments. If less than 48-hour notice is given, the session will be charged in full. I also understand that life happens.

Q: Where is your office located?

I am located in Ottawa, Ontario, all consultations are virtual via zoom or phone.

Q: What is your privacy policy?

I am committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. If you provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. All of your information will be kept strictly confidential. All information shared within the professional relationship will be held with the strictest confidence. Information may be shared at the client’s request with a medical doctor, naturopathic doctor or any other healthcare practitioner the client deems appropriate. Confidential information will only be shared if the law requires it.
