Mushroom Gravy

Making your own gravy is super easy and you get to control the amount of salt and spices that go into it. Mushrooms are amazing at making tasty gravy. All you need is 5 ingredients and 10 minutes! :)


1 cup sliced mushrooms 1 tbsp vegan butter or oil

1.5 cups veggie stock

1 tbsp cornstarch or flour

1/2 tsp dried thyme



1) Sautee sliced mushrooms in vegan butter or oil on medium heat, allow to them cook. 2) Add in veggie stock and thyme after mushrooms have browned.

3) In a small bowl add cornstarch or flour with 2 tbsp of water (created a cornstarch slurry). Mix well. 4) Lower heat and start whisking your mushroom gravy and slowly add in your slurry. Remember to whisk. Continue to whisk and your gravy should start to thicken.

5) Add salt and pepper to taste and pour it over your delicious meal! Ps. this gravy works amazing for poutine! ;)
